Image
A Mother's Cry is committed to sharing the stories of mothers from all ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.  Today, we're happy to share a recent interview with Vanessa Wigglesworth. AMC: How many children do you have?  Vanessa: I have 2 children. What are their ages? They are 12 (nearly 13) and 8.  AMC: Did becoming a Mother impact your life goals or dreams? If so, how?  Vanessa: Becoming a mother absolutely impacted my dreams. I'm not much of a planner, but always dreamed of "better"- owning my own home, being able to travel, being in a strong and stable relationship...etc. When I was younger I never imagined being a parent, but now my dreams have expanded to include making sure our children have a childhood they won't have to recover from.   AMC: What is your current occupation?  Vanessa: I am currently home because of this virus, but most recently I was working as a Lunch Aide at an elementary school. I've also been an Avon represen...

Shelby Alexander Griggs www.shelbyagriggs.com A Mother's Cry is committed to sharing the stories of mothers from all ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.  Today, we're happy to share a recent interview with Shelby Alexander Griggs. She is a coach, speaker, and author and shares her journey with AMC. How many children do you have? What are their ages?  I have two children. My son is 26 years old and my daughter is 10 years old. She’ll be 11 years old this December. I know! People’s mouths usually drop when they hear that. My daughter was not only my miracle but my rainbow baby. Did becoming a Mother impact your life goals or dreams? If so, how?  I would say not with my son. He actually inspired me. I had my daughter late in life and when she came, I had actually republished my first book and was about to launch my speaking career. Becoming pregnant at 42 years old, made me high risk so I had to put a lot on hold. I will say that they both motivated me to live out ...

BJG Speaks: "Everyday, we hear about another shooting where a "Protect & Serve" employee, shoots and usually kills someone. Quite often, right in front of a Crowd, including children, other family members, neighbours and anyone else. They make it clear that they couldn't care less who is watching. They don't care that they are being recorded. Their body language, facial expressions and vulgar language make it clear. They smirk and smile, provoking us to respond, so that they have another reason to kill more people. They don't care because they do not anticipate any consequences for their barbaric behavior. Why? Because the System is set up in their favour. We even have a President justifying their killings and comparing it to a game of Golf. THEY HAVE NO FEAR. ALL OF THAT "I BECAME A COP TO HELP PEOPLE" IS A JOKE. Ever since the people starting screaming, "Make America Great Again" we have been witnessing the exposure of the foundatio...

Queen Mothers Reset

By nature, Mothers like order. We prefer structure and schedules. We are nurtures and we want everything around us in its proper place. We came into this New Year, primed and ready to power forward with our 20/20 Visions and Dreams. Then, POW!! Covid-19 snuck up on us and knocked us completely on our butts.  We sat there in our shock for a bit, but then we slowly made it to our knees. Then we were able to stand, though still a bit wobbly. Some of us faced illnesses and deaths of our loved ones and we were helpless to fix them. You know, the "Mother response."  We watched our children thrown completely off their routines as they were snatched from their friends, Teachers and School routines and quarantined in their homes. Not only was their teaching altered, but their social interactions brought to a halt. As Mothers, we cry for them and with them, while we attempt to explain this messy situation, that we ourselves do not even understand. We reached that proverbial lockdown. N...
